RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume lead role for 2 of agencys in-school youth programs:
For CAREER CONNECTION, (CC), an innovative after school youth program for 20 at-risk 14-19 year-old students designed to support and motivate students to succeed and stay in school:
1. Assume lead coordinating and direct service role in CC after school program activities (4 2-hour+ sessions) providing daily homework support and motivation; developing and leading fun academic enrichment, team building, and career/job readiness activities.
2. Develop Individual Service Strategies for CC participants including making an assessment and setting short- and long-term goals in the areas of educational performance, vocation/career development, and personal. Perform regular review of progress and complete monthly progress report for each participant and family.
3. Provide case management services for CC students, working directly with the family, teachers, counselors, employers, and others. This may include home visits. Provide advocacy, when necessary.
4. Make appropriate resource referrals to mental health providers, employers, etc. as appropriate, to support participants. This may include job development, placement, and monitoring for some participants.
5. Provide regular counseling/career counseling one-on-one and in groups for participants.
6. Develop and operate all aspects of Career Connections Mentoring Program from recruitment, screening, training, matching, maintenance, etc.
7. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate Vocational Counselor in addition to interns, volunteers, and mentors.
For JUST A STARTS SUMMER YOUTH ENRICHMENT PROGRAM, (Summer) a 43 year-old comprehensive academic enrichment/employment program for 80+ urban youth {specifically targeting 14-16 year-old youth who are economically and/or academically disadvantaged} designed 1) to provide a positive early paid work experience for youth, 2) to provide academic support to bridge the summer between the two school years, and 3) to provide a vital connection of school to career and get the youth thinking about and planning for their futures:
8. Assume lead supervisory/administrative role in the Summer Program, coordinating all aspects of day-to-day operations (8 hours of programming M-Th; 4 hours of programming F).
9. Work with Program Manager to set program goals & execute them.
10. Research, select, create, and implement appropriate curriculum.
11. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff of approx. 10 (2 lead teacher/trainers, 2 assistant teacher/trainers, 1 program/admin. assistant, 3 worksite supervisors, 2 drivers; coordinate with JASC Field Coordinator).

14. Assist Program Manager in writing reports and proposals.

REQUIRED:
BA/BS/BSW or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work with youth

Spotlight Counselors (North Shore)
Spotlight is a clinically-based social pragmatics program of the North Shore Arc, integrating techniques of theater games and dramatic training with highly motivating and age-appropriate activities (such as video games, knowledge-based trivia games, etc.), as well as a positive social reinforcement-based environment to foster skill development in core deficit areas. Spotlight students range in age from 9-20 years old, and often have primary diagnoses of Aspergers Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, ADHD, Bi-polar Disorder, Social Anxiety, Depression, PDD-NOS, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or Autism. However, no diagnosis is necessary for students to participate in Spotlight, only an interest in developing greater social-emotional and non-verbal interaction skills.

Under the supervision of the Infectious Disease Prevention Coordinator, the Community Outreach Worker is responsible for conducting infectious disease prevention and education activities, and referring individuals at risk for infections for testing. This position is focused on reaching out to the At-risk Youth Population.
This is a Part-Time, 16 hour a week position.
Primary Responsibilities:
I. Conducts infectious diseases prevention and education.
o Provide one on one education and information

Youth Rights Media Seeks Executive Director (New Haven)
The Organization:
Youth Rights Media (YRM) builds youth power and leadership by engaging young people in video production and community organizing, equipping youth with the tools, skills and strategies to know, protect, and advance their rights for the purpose of affecting change within themselves and their communities.
For eight years, YRMs youth media has produced award-winning films that have been distributed nationally. Members of YRMs organizing initiatives have then used these films locally to launch awareness and action campaigns that have resulted in tangible changes in Connecticuts justice and education systems.
YRM currently has four full-time staff members who work with a core group of approximately 50 youth annually. The work of YRMs youth, in turn, has reached thousands of community members across the state of Connecticut.
The Position:
The Executive Director must be a visionary and engaging leader, an experienced manager, and deeply committed to young peoples growth and development. YRM is a small, lean organization where all staff play a direct, hands-on role. The Executive Director must excel at balancing multiple tasks, including internal management of the staff and programs, external relationships with key stakeholders, collaborators, and allies, and the demands of working in a fluid, fast-paced youth-centered environment. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring that the organization is fiscally and programmatically sound, and must work to strategically advance YRMs purpose and goals.

Assistant Residential Manager (Waltham area)
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to help manage and maintain a clean, safe, positive learning environment in the residence. Prior experience with special needs students and behavioral analysis and well demonstrated skills in a supervisory/administrative role are required.
